Her work leverages causal inference methods to study policy-relevant questions within these fields. In previous work, Dr. Mikdash focused on studying policing in the United States. Her work on indigent defense has shown that race plays an important role in the legal representation of low-income defendants. In addition to my work on policing and crime, she studied the effect of voltage quality on economic activity in Ghana. Currently, Dr. Mikdash is focused on understanding the impact of access to free Pre-K on long-term labor market and educational outcomes.
