UCAC Enrollment Options

Students may be enrolled in one of the following categories while in UCAC.

Pre-degree:

Students who were previously enrolled in the Center for Freshman Year (UCFY) or who transferred to LSU from another institution, have attempted 30 or more hours of college credit, and do not yet meet the requirements for their intended senior college are enrolled in UCAC under Pre-degree status. The student’s enrollment coding will appear as (PAGRI, PBADM, PHSS, etc), but they will have a declared major and are considered degree-seeking. Pre-degree students are permitted four regular (fall/spring) semesters of UCAC enrollment to meet the admission requirements for their senior college.

Restricted Admit:

Students who have been previously enrolled in an LSU senior college, but have decided to change majors and do not meet the admission criteria for the new senior college, can petition to gain entry into UCAC for two semesters as a RADM student. Submission of a petition for admission to UCAC as a Restricted Admit (RADM) student are not guaranteed approval. Students can request an official petition form in UCAC, 150 Himes Hall or [email protected].  The Center for Advising and Counseling admissions committee will review the student’s petition to determine if the admission requirements of the new senior college can be realistically met within the time allotment. Senior colleges may be consulted when petitions are considered.

Not Regularly Admitted Students:

Students pursuing a degree at another college or university and taking courses at LSU with the intent to transfer all credit to their home institutions may be admitted to UCAC under this coding. Students must apply through LSU Undergraduate Admissions for formal admission to the university under this status.

Non-Matriculating Students:

Students who have completed a degree at a four-year institution and wish to take undergraduate courses with no specific degree path declared may be eligible for enrollment in UCAC as a non-matriculating student.  Students must apply through LSU Undergraduate Admissions for formal admission to the university under this status.
