Facility Services
The Office of Facility Services maintains the campus buildings and grounds, comprising over 8.5 million square feet of buildings and 1,800 acres of land. This office has approximately 500 employees including custodians, skilled craftsmen, technicians, engineers, managers, architects, and a range of other technical, clerical, and professional/paraprofessional personnel. Facility Services is made up of four departments: Office of Facility Development, Office of Facility Maintenance, Office of Energy Services, and Office of Resource Services.

The Office of Facility Services provides full-service building and grounds maintenance and renovation to University facilities and premises. Please be advised that all work involving University Facilities and/or property such as construction, renovation, alteration, maintenance, and/or installation of new equipment must be authorized and performed by or under the supervision of the Office of Facility Services in accordance with PS-84. Services rendered consist of the following:

General Building Services
Electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning repair and maintenance; installation; light bulb replacement; painting; carpentry; plastering; lock re-keying and repair; roofing repair; elevator repair; fire alarms; asbestos inspection, testing, and abatement; welding and sheet metal work; insulation; state-of-the-art energy management system for alarms; and air-conditioning scheduling and monitoring. -
Building Services
Custodial services, moving and hauling services, paper recycling, emergency clean up services. -
Utility Services
All underground utilities to buildings, all drainage and sewer systems on campus; includes the central power plant that generates steam and chilled water necessary to provide heating and cooling of campus facilities. -
Grounds
Trash removal, pavement repair, concrete work, maintenance; grounds and tree maintenance. -
Construction and Architectural Services, Interior and Furniture Design, and Renovation
Mechanical, electrical, and structural design and inspection; code compliance review and advice; estimating scheduling; and construction and renovation. -
Auto Repair
Campus-wide full-service auto maintenance center providing repairs, including engine overhaul, tune-ups, oil changes, brake fluid inspection and replacement; air conditioning maintenance and repair; upholstery repair; transmission work; tire repair; and safety inspections.
