Through education and skill development, students can improve their health and wellness.

Wellness & Health Promotion Services

The team leads presentations and meets with students individually or in groups for wellness coaching, nutrition counseling, and case management to provide information on the following health-related topics:

  • Alcohol, Cannabis, and Other Drugs
  • Dimensions of Wellness
  • Eating Disorders and Body Image
  • Emotional Wellness
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Health Insurance Options and Benefits
  • Nicotine Cessation

Wellness Coaches are available to provide individual coaching to facilitate and empower students to achieve self-determined health and wellness goals.

QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is designed to teach you the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. The course takes approximately one hour to complete and is currently being offered in-person or virtually.

To request a QPR training for your dept or organization, please complete a Presentation Request Form.

TEAM Class

The Tiger Education on Alcohol Matters (TEAM) Class educates students about alcohol and other drug use and risk reduction strategies. Students will learn to recognize high-risk situations and to minimize negative consequences by employing protective behaviors, reducing consumption, or practicing abstinence. 

Students who are interested or received a mandated referral for the class can call 225-578-5718 to register.

The registered dietitian can assist students with eating habits to meet their health, weight, or fitness goals and promote a healthy relationship with food and body.

LSU requires all first-time students under the age of 22 to complete the online Vector Solutions Primary Prevention Education Modules. Students should plan to complete it prior to the first day of classes.

A case manager works to find solutions, to provide assistance, and to bridge the gap between needs and resources, both academic and personal. Learn more about case management services.

Programs & Presentations

To request a presentation, please complete the Presentation Request Form.

Presentations are scheduled on a first come, first-served basis and can be adapted to fit your specific needs. Please discuss the program goals when you are contacted to confirm. We request at least two weeks’ notice.

Join Street Squad
