The Application Process
Each health profession has a standardized application that you must complete and submit for admission to professional school. Please note that these standard applications are separate from your committee application and are managed by each Health Professions National Association. Submitting an application to the Review Committee is a separate piece of your process. Each applicant is required to complete his/her own applications to professional school.
You will be assigned an identification number unique to each professional school application service. This number is how the association tracks your application status and all supporting materials that must be submitted. You should register with each service as soon as it comes online for the application cycle in which you plan to apply.
Most applications will "go live" in May or June of the calendar year prior to enrollment. Make sure you complete the application for the correct cycle.
You must send an official transcript from each college you have attended to each national application service. Transcripts must be requested by the student from the Office of the Registrar at each college. This is your responsibility. Most application services provide a transcript request form as a part of the application. You should download, complete and submit it to the Registrar's Office at each college you have attended. Please note that you do not have to and should not send transcripts to the Review Committee; the Review Committee has access to your transcripts. You must have your transcripts sent directly from the Registrar’s Office of each college/university you have attended to the national application services applicable to you (AMCAS, AADSAS, AACOMAS, TMDSAS).
Please make sure to select "Yes" for the question asking if you want to give permission to the association to share information with your PMED/PDENT advisor. You attend Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. Please be sure to choose Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College as your institution and not another listed LSU designation. If we do not have your letter matching information, your letter submission will be delayed. To avoid delays in submission, please ensure that you chose the correct institution and release your information to us/submit your letter request for to [email protected] via email.
Because most schools use rolling admissions, you should submit your application as early as possible. (Rolling admissions means that the school does not wait until all of the applications are submitted to begin evaluating applications. Therefore, applying later in the cycle could place you at a disadvantage in the application process.) You DO NOT have to wait for your letters to be received or your test scores to be released before you submit your professional school application. The application services will automatically update your application with this information once it is received. In the application process, early is always better.
There are six application services. You will need to determine which ones are applicable to you based on the schools to which you plan to apply.
