Chemistry Department Conference Room Policies
The following policies, as adopted by the Chemistry Faculty on 03/02/2016, apply to the following Conference Rooms: Choppin 210, 212 (Pryor Rooms) and 714, CMB 100, 202, 302 and 402.
- Reservations for the above mentioned rooms can be made from the Chemistry Department Website (Community Moodle), or: Booked Scheduler
- The Chemistry Department Conference Rooms are intended to provide Chemistry personnel with functional and comfortable surroundings for activities such as faculty meetings, group meetings, committee meetings, research discussions, general examinations, degree defenses, examination grading with TAs, and the like.
- Conference Rooms must not be routinely reserved for formally scheduled LSU undergraduate or graduate courses, unless a room is not available nearby.
- Problems with IT equipment should be reported, upon discovery, to Brad Weeks (578-7539), or to the IT Service Desk (578-3375; [email protected]).
- After using a Conference Room the group leader must ensure that chairs and tables are in place, the projection system is off, and the screen (Choppin Pryor Rooms) is up. There has been a tendency for the CMB Conference Room seats to accumulate in CMB100. If it becomes necessary to acquire extra seats from other CMB rooms, the group leader is also responsible for ensuring that all of those seats are returned to their original rooms immediately after the meeting ends.
- If food or refreshments of any kind are used in the Conference Rooms, it is the responsibility of the group leader to ensure that the room is left as it was found. Per University policy, alcohol is not allowed in any of the Conference Rooms. Care should be taken to place used paper plates, plastic cutlery, uneaten food and drinks, etc., in a waste bin. Bottles, cans and other recyclables should be placed in a recycling bin. Violations of these policies should be referred to the Department Chair.
- The Choppin Pryor Rooms must be locked after use, and Charlotte (578-3361) or Vickie (578- 3465) should be informed when the room is no longer in use. Use of the Choppin Pryor Rooms after 4:30 pm will require that Charlotte (578-3361) or Vickie (578-3465) be informed of the meeting so that they can unlock the room(s). In particular, Choppin 210 auto arms its alarm at 7:00 pm. If using the room after 4:30 pm, the group leader must ensure that the room is vacant, that the projector is off, and the room is locked prior to 7:00 pm; once the alarm goes into countdown mode users have only 45 seconds to vacate.
- If a Choppin 210 reservation is made that will continue after 7:00 pm, the group leader will have to meet with Charlotte (578-3361) or Vickie (578-3465) to receive information about the rotating code. When the alarm goes into countdown mode (at 7:00 pm), promptly inserting the rotating code (only) will prevent the system from arming. Upon leaving the room the system will then have to be armed manually.
