The Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation (LAMP) LA-BRIDGES: Louisiana Broadening Resources for Increasing Engagement in Graduate Education, a Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation – Bridge to the Doctorate Program (LSAMP/BD) is an initiative supported by the National Science Foundation.

This endeavor encourages students from underserved groups to pursue PhD degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

115 Students Served to Date; 22 LSU STEM departments; 50 PhDs, 22 Master's, 11 PhD Candidates

Since 2005, the Strategic Initiatives of the Graduate School has supported eight cohorts of outstanding BD Fellows totaling 115 students from 22 LSU STEM departments. To date, 50 have completed PhDs, 22 have received Master's degrees, and 11 are current PhD candidates. BD Fellows have pursued careers in various areas of the STEM workforce including academia, industry, and government.
