Be a Part of the On-Campus Community
The Mass Communication Residential College (MCRC) is specifically designed to offer an educational and social community for the next generation of journalism, public relations, advertising and political communication professionals.
The MCRC is located in Residential College One - South Hall. South Hall provides everything you need to be successful: offices where Manship School faculty advisors hold office hours, a computer lab classroom, multiple group and individual study spaces, outdoor courtyards and modern two-student, suite-bathroom style rooms in a great location on the west side of campus.
At the MCRC, you live in the same hall as your classmates, build community and excel academically. You engage in activities that strengthen both your educational and professional careers including some on-site classes, study sessions as well as special access to guest speakers.
Benefits of Living in the MCRC:
- Live and take classes, sometimes in the res halls in the community, with your peers in MCRC, creating a smaller network within the larger LSU campus
- Have priority scheduling for some mass communication classes
- Attend exclusive seminars from Manship School faculty on topics like resume writing and business etiquette
- Prepare to apply for entrance into the Manship School
- Attend Associated Press writing style tutoring program to learn to write correctly and clearly in forms and styles appropriate for the communications professions, audiences, and purposes they serve
