Biography
Strecker studies representations of consciousness in American fiction of the 20th and 21st centuries. His current work centers on perception, memory, and narrative in hard-boiled and noir fiction. Before coming to LSU in 2015, he taught English and coordinated the interdepartmental minor in sport studies at Ball State University. He edited NINE: A Journal of Baseball History and Culture from 2007 to 2020 and still serves as a member of the editorial board. He is a member of the National Book Critics Circle.
