Biographical Sketch

Dr. Ikuma has research training in ergonomics and industrial and systems engineering and experience applying ergonomics principles in healthcare, petrochemical, construction, and manufacturing environments to improve processes while maintaining safety, productivity, and employee satisfaction. In particular, she is interested in the impact of process improvement through Lean initiatives on the safety and health of workers. Dr. Ikuma has also developed courses in healthcare engineering, research methods for industrial engineers, applied statistics, and work measurement at the undergraduate and graduate level.
