Pre-Law Program

3+3 Pre-Law Program

Understanding the Program

Interested in law school? Want to receive a bachelor's degree and law degree in six years instead of seven? The LSU College of Humanities & Social Sciences 3+3 Pre-Law Program allows high-achieving undergraduate students to earn a bachelor's degree and law degree in six years rather than taking the traditional route of seven years.

What does this mean?

This will allow LSU College of Humanities & Social Sciences students to complete the bachelor's degree and law degree with three years of full-time study at LSU and three years of full-time study at the LSU Law Center. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

How do I finance my legal education at LSU Law Center?

Louisiana students who have the TOPS scholarship can use a year of TOPS funding for the first year law school as long as semesters of eligibility remain. For more information on loans and scholarships, contact the LSU Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships via email at [email protected] or [email protected].

How does the 3+3 Pre-Law Program work?

You follow a prescribed curriculum to complete required courses for a bachelor's degree in three years. Next, you apply for admission to the LSU Law Center during your junior year. If accepted, you would be eligible to begin study at the LSU Law Center during your senior year of undergraduate studies. Completed coursework will count toward the final year of the undergraduate degree, as well as the first year of the law degree.
