Biography
A native West Tennessean, Derek Moseley graduated in June 2022 with an MFA in English (fiction) from the Programs in Writing at the University of California, Irvine. He began teaching at LSU in the fall 2022 semester. Before making writing and teaching the center of his life, he worked two jobs as a paralegal in law firms and as an adjunct instructor. He taught at Jackson State Community College for over ten years and in 2015 received the Outstanding Adjunct Award from the Faculty Council. He has taught English Composition and Fiction Writing at the University of California, Irvine and the University of Memphis. Derek is currently seeking representation for his collection of linked short stories, which he wrote for his thesis at UC Irvine. He is at work on a novel.
