The Cain Department of Chemical Engineering at LSU invites qualified and enthusiastic candidates to apply for two open tenure-track positions:
Significant private, state, and federal investments have positioned LSU as a leader in sustainable energy research including carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration/storage, and hydrogen production and storage solutions. These include the recently established Shell Institute for Energy Innovation and the Pelican-Gulf Coast Carbon Removal hub funded by DOE. The Chemical Engineering Department is poised to play a significant role in these areas of research. We are looking for researchers who can synergize with them and take them to a new level.

About the Department
The Cain Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the first programs of its kind with roots in the Audubon Sugar School (1885). The Department recently relocated to a new building and benefits from a strong alumni base, over $25 million in endowments, and approximately $10 million in recent awards related to energy and sustainable chemical manufacturing. At present, the Department includes 17 tenure and tenure-track professors (all with named professorships or chairs), 4 Professionals in Residence and 4 part-time or emeritus instructors.

Application Process
Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor position in the Cain Department of Chemical Engineering at Louisiana State University. We invite applicants with a doctoral degree in chemical engineering (or closely related field) from recognized institutions and a proven record of academic accomplishment.
Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching courses in chemical engineering and to build a strong research program through independent and collaborative work. Applicants are also encouraged to review the strategic plans of the university (LSU Strategic Plan 2025) and the College of Engineering, both available online at http://www.lsu.edu/.
