About Me

Educational Background

PhD, University of Minnesota, 1980
BS, Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentina, 1974

Research Interests

  • Advanced multi-scale modelling architectures for complex processes
  • Advanced multiresolution image analysis and characterization techniques
  • Design and synthesis with economic-environmental-operability considerations
  • Intelligent data processing, reconciliation, and monitoring
  • Advanced process control
  • Enterprise-wide optimization

Research Projects

Process Systems Engineering

The Process Systems Engineering group actively engages in the modelling, optimization, and advanced control of complex systems– typical examples of which include particulate systems (such as polymerization and crystallization), complex physical systems (such as chemical, petrochemical, pulp & paper, food processing), bioprocesses & environmental processes.

Process Systems Engineering at LSU (PSE@LSU) focuses on both the continuous development/implementation of novel technologies to support traditional application & investigating novel/challenging applications in emerging areas by interacting with other members of the department & other institutions through interdisciplinary research projects.
