About Me
Educational Background
Dr. Yaxin An comes to LSU by way of Princeton University, where she served as a Postdoctoral Scholar since 2021. She received her BS in Chemical Engineering from Central South University, China. She earned her MS in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University, China, then traveled to Virginia, where she earned her PhD in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2020.
Research Interests
- Integrating multi-scale modeling and machine learning to characterize, understand and design soft materials for health, sustainable and energy applications.
- Accelerating molecular structure design of intrinsically stretchable polymers for soft robotics and wearable devices.
- Enhancing drug loading of self-assembled lipid nanoparticles.
- Unveiling the role of RNA in the phase separation of intrinsically disordered proteins.
Research Projects
Dr. An is currently working on machine learning assisted computational design of (i) drug molecules promoting the formation of biocondensates, (ii) stretchable semiconductive polymers for wearable devices, and (iii) nanoparticles for drug delivery.
