Research Interests:
Dr. Kofi Christie’s research focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to improve sustainability at the water-energy nexus. His work spans areas such as wastewater treatment and reuse, desalination, resource recovery, remediation and pollution control, and carbon capture and utilization. His research interests include:
- Elucidating the complex thermodynamic stabilities of highly saline wastewater solutions
- Designing and fabricating novel membrane materials and processes for resource recovery
- Process optimization for membrane-based liquid separations
- Thermo-responsive soft materials for water treatment
- Valorization of waste materials for long-term CO2 storage
