Biography
Dr. Xavier Thompson obtained his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at the Ohio
State University and a post-professional master’s in Athletic Training while working
as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Kentucky. He worked
as a clinical research coordinator before completing his doctoral studies at the University
of Virginia.
Dr. Thompson’s research focuses on the identification of risk factors for athletic
injuries and improving athletic performance. He is interested in how biomechanics,
motor performance, and other performance indicators can be modified in order to reduce
injury risk in a variety of physically active populations.
