Our Mission

    The Gordon A. Cain Center for STEM Literacy supports high-quality STEM education and college readiness initiatives through programs and services that build capacity for successful teaching and student learning. We conduct research to improve teaching and learning in the STEM disciplines and provide information and insight to education policy makers.

    Policy & Leadership Play a leadership role in developing curricula and standards, advocating for STEM education policy in Louisiana.

    Teachers to Students We implement teacher training in the classroom to enhance their skills and effectiveness. 
    Students to Research Through research, we actively listen to and learn from students about areas that need improvement.
    Research to Policy & Leadership This research informs and guides our support and implementation of necessary policy changes. 
    Policy & Leadership to Teachers Additionally, we provide tailored training programs for teachers, focusing on educating them about policy changes and introducing them to new innovative practices.
