Biography

I am an Instructor of Sociology and Coordinator of Undergraduate Activities and Organizations. I received my Ph.D. in Sociology from LSU in 2003. Before returning to LSU in the fall of 2004, I spent five years at Mississippi State University where I taught in the Department of Sociology and worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at the Social Science Research Center. My areas of interest include criminology, violence, deviance, and the sociology of gender. In the past I have conducted research examining Drug Courts in Mississippi, race and gender specific homicide victimization, and various aspects of student health. I regularly teach Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, and the Sociology of Deviance.
