Biography

Matt Lee is the Vice President for Agriculture and Dean of the LSU College of Agriculture. Prior to joining the LSU AgCenter and College of Ag, he served in several leadership capacities at LSU, including interim Executive Vice President and Provost, Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Support Services, and Senior Associate Vice President in the Office of Research and Economic Development. With a background in sociology, Lee is a criminologist and public health scholar specializing in rural crime, community resilience, and community public health patterns. He has more than 60 peer-reviewed scholarly papers and numerous other publications. His funding portfolio includes a National Science Foundation CAREER award focusing on rural crime and serving as the institutional lead on the $9 million multi-institutional Consortium for Resilient Gulf Communities project funded by the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative.
